Google gDrive

So the rumors are running around that google is once again focusing on the initiative of storing it’s users data in the clouds. this was talked about a few years back all over the web but was just vaporware back then, but now supposedly a launch is immenent.

The wall street journal is saying the following

Google is preparing a service that would let users store on its computers essentially all of the files they might keep on their personal-computer hard drives — such as word-processing documents, digital music, video clips and images, say people familiar with the matter. The service could let users access their files via the Internet from different computers and mobile devices when they sign on with a password, and share them online with friends. It could be released as early as a few months from now, one of the people said.

Now here lies the problem we all know when google releases a product its in beta status for what seems like eons. we already trust them with our email, can you really and truly trust a beta product with your data. family photos, office docs etc. to something that may go away in the blink of an eye. and as you frantically contact google please keep in mind this service will probably initially be free and the first come first serve basis will not be to joe blow off the street who just lost his families summer photos. but to big daddy warbucks who can give google the moola it so desperately craves.

the motto of “don’t be evil” still applies they are not keeping gDrive to upper-class netizens but a new motto can be given “don’t be evil, but we can be cruel”
